1. College Introduction

The Law School originated from the Department of Social Sciences founded in 1995, dedicated to cultivating outstanding interdisciplinary innovative talents in the field of the rule of law and social governance, who are proficient in law, knowledgeable about industry and well-versed in science and technology.

It currently offers 3 undergraduate enrollment majors, namely Law, Law (GDUT-UTS Sino-Australian Law Program) and Social Work, as well as 1 micro-major of Bay Area Governance. An innovative class for the undergraduate major of Law has been launched since the 2023 enrollment cohort.

The school has 1 academic master's program in Enterprise Compliance Risk Management, and 2 professional master's programs in Law and Social Work.

The Law major has been selected as a national first-class undergraduate major construction site, and the courses Constitutional Law, Public Relations and Public Welfare Project Management have been recognized as first-class undergraduate courses of Guangdong Province.

2. Professional Training

Law Major: A national and provincial first-class undergraduate major construction site.

Relying on the university's advantages in engineering, the major construction is closely integrated with the actual construction of the rule of law in Guangdong, adapting to the development needs of the new type of industrialization and highlighting the concept of new liberal arts. Centering on the training goal of diverse and outstanding legal talents, it focuses on fields such as data rule of law, human rights protection, intellectual property, collaborative rule of law in the Bay Area and industrial rule of law.

It enables students to systematically master legal knowledge, be familiar with China's laws, regulations and relevant policies, understand the development of foreign legal systems, and strive to cultivate students' legal thinking in big data, artificial intelligence and other fields, as well as the ability to independently analyze and solve legal problems.

Social Work Major: The school is a national social work professional talent training base of the Ministry of Civil Affairs, a social work professional talent cultivation base of Guangdong Province of the Department of Civil Affairs of Guangdong Province, an executive director unit of the China Association of Social Work Education, and the president unit of the Guangdong Association of Social Work Education and Practice.

Based on the knowledge of sociology, psychology, management and other disciplines, it emphasizes the progressive cultivation of three-level abilities: social work practice methods and technologies, project planning and organization management, and social policy and regulation formulation, forming three characteristic directions: community social work, social governance and social policy, and health social work.
