Brief Biography

Tan Lei, graduated from the School of Sociology, Huazhong University of Science and Technology with a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology, a Master of Public Administration (major in Social Security) and a Doctor of Public Administration; he joined the Department of Social Work of Guangdong University of Technology in February 2005 and served as a government-sponsored Visiting Scholar in the United States (2017-2018). Since joining the university, he has published more than 20 academic papers, 3 of which have been fully reprinted by the Renmin University of China Copy and Data Center, and many papers have won Excellent Paper Awards in the annual conferences of the China Social Security Association and the China Association of Social Work Education; he published a sole-authored monograph in 2014. He presided over the 2015 National Social Science Fund General Project in Sociology and the Comprehensive Reform Pilot Project of the Specialty (Social Work) of the Quality Engineering of the Department of Education of Guangdong Province. He has won honors such as Advanced Worker in Science and Technology, Teaching Excellence Award and Excellent Communist Party Member of Guangdong University of Technology, and was selected as a university-level candidate for the “Thousand-Hundred-Ten Talent Project“ in Guangdong Province. He also serves as Director of the Guangdong Social Insurance Association and Director of the Guangzhou Sociological and Anthropological Association.
