Recently, Yang Zhaoye, director of the Research Office of the National People's Congress Standing Committee, Hong Kong and Macao Basic Law Committee, was invited to give a lecture in our college. Professor Du Chengming, member of the Standing Committee of the Party Committee and vice president of the University, attended the lecture together with representatives of teachers and students of the Law School.

In the lecture titled “Theory, Practice and Development of the System of Special Administrative Regions”, Director Yang Zhaoye systematically sorted out the development of the relevant theories and systems under the framework of the practice of "one country, two systems", and elaborated in depth on the logic of the formation of the system and the direction of development of the system of special administrative regions, from the perspective of the formation and construction of the system, General Secretary Xi Jinping's important exposition on the system of special administrative regions as well as the future development of the system of special administrative regions and its inspirations.The report systematically and comprehensively explains the institutional system and development path of the special administrative region system for us, and at the same time provides informative methodological guidelines for future research on the Basic Law of Hong Kong and Macao by teachers and students of the Law School.

At the end of the lecture, Director Yang Zhaoye also listened to the report on the research of the Basic Law of Hong Kong and Macao by our young teachers. He suggested that research in the field of Basic Law should emphasize the macro-guidance of the Constitution and the Basic Law and the grasp of the principle issues, and made pertinent and detailed suggestions on the research of the teachers.

In recent years, our institute has formed certain characteristics in the study of the Basic Law of Hong Kong and Macao, and this lecture is of great significance in guiding our teachers and students to make greater achievements in the study of the Basic Law of Hong Kong and Macao in the future.
