December 23, 2024, The forum, Guangdong Social Work Undergraduate Education High-Quality Development Forum——2023 Guangdong Colleges and Universities Social Work Teaching Steering Committee and the Directors of Undergraduate Social Work Joint Meeting & The 2nd Guangdong Social Work Undergraduate Forum, was organized by the Social Work Teaching Steering Committee of Guangdong and hosted by School of Law of GDUT in Longdong Camper.of GDUT. In order to promote the sustainable development and improvement of undergraduate social work education in Guangdong, the forum focused on on the topics of “Trends and challenges of undergraduate social work professional education”, “Construction and innovation of undergraduate social work courses system under the background of new liberal arts”, “integration of courses thought and politics in undergraduate social Work talent training”, “integration and development of undergraduate social work professional education and practice”, “construction of social work laboratory and innovation of experimental teaching” and other topics.
Nearly 200 social work experts and scholars, members of Guangdong College and School Social Work Teaching Steering Committee, who come from Sun Yat-sen University, South China University of Technology, South China Normal University, South China Agricultural University, Shenzhen University, Guangdong University of Foreign Studies, Wuyi University and other higher education university, student representatives , Professor Wenbin YANG, Director of the Academic Affairs Office of GDUT, and members of leader group of School of Law, attended the forum.
At the opening ceremony, Professor Caiqin ZHUO, Chairman of the Guangdong Provincial Social Work Teaching Steering Committee, Guangdong WANG, Secretary-General of the Provincial Social Workers Federation, Wenbin YANG, director of GDUT, Youwu CHEN dean of School of Law, delivered speeches respectively. Professor Jinglin LIU, deputy director of the Teaching Steering Committee and Department of Social Work of school, reviewed and summarized the work of the Teaching Steering Committee in the past four years. In the keynote presentation session, Professor Lixia XIE from SCUT, Professor Jianshe XIE from GZU, Professor Zhuo Caiqin from SCAU, director of the Guangdong Social Work Teaching Steering Committee, Professor Xiaofeng LI from SZU, Professor Heqing ZHANG from SYSU, Professor Daowen XU from SZU, deputy director of the Teaching Steering Committee, and Professor Zhiming LI, deputy dean of school and executive deputy editor of Social Work and Management, delivered speeches respectively, putting forward valuable suggestions for the education reform and industry development of social work.
The forum also arranged for Professor Xingjie ZHANG, the first director of the Teaching Steering Committee and the person in charge of the social work major construction of Guangdong Baiyun University, to award the second Guangdong Social Work undergraduate essay Competition, in order to commend the excellent performance of the students in the essay competition.
On the same day, the Guangdong Colleges and schools Social Work Undergraduate Teaching and Research Education Reform Forum and the second Guangdong Social Work Undergraduate Forum were also held. Experts, scholars and students spoke actively and the discussion atmosphere was lively.
