On February 25, 2024, in order to celebrate the 20th anniversary of School of Law, deepen and promote the high-quality development of social work disciplines, "Authenticity, Integration and Development" Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area Social Work Quality Development Forum was held in Longdong Campus of GDUT, with the strong support and organization of Alumni Association of School of Law Alumni Association. There were more than 100 people participated in the forum, including members of the school, representatives of teachers of the Department of Social work, president of the alumni association of the school, representatives of directors, representatives of past alumni and current students of the school. The forum was live broadcast simultaneously, and more than 30,000 people participated online.
At the beginning of the forum, Youwu CHEN, dean of School of Law, Feifei HUANG, Secretary of the Party Committee, Yong LIU, director of the Department of Social Work, delivered speeches respectively. They reviewed and prospected the construction of the social work discipline, and expressed their gratitude to the alumni association of the School and colleagues in the social work industry for their support and arrival.
The forum is divided into three parts.The first part is the keynote speech. Six teachers from the Department of Social Work give speeches based on the theme of the forum, combining their own research fields and achievements.In the second part, five alumni from different cities in the Great Bay Area discussed and shared the current development of social work in Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macao under the theme of "Opportunities and Challenges in the development of social work in the Greater Bay Area".The third part is the Topic Sharing. Eight outstanding alumni from different practical fields shared and exchanged ideas around "Building a Great Bay Dream together - Social work practice and Exploration from the perspective of the linkage of five organizations of social work ", combined with their own research and practical experience.
Finally, Yuanyuan ZHU, associate dean of School of Law ,summarized the results of the forum. She hoped that the participants would continue to pay attention to and study issues related to the high-quality development of social work, actively explore new models and new paths suitable for the development of the Greater Bay Area, and jointly promote the sustainable development of social work in the Greater Bay Area.
