On November 14, the 2020 Annual Meeting of the Litigation Law Research Society of Guangdong Province Law Society was held in Guangzhou. More than 130 practitioners from the court system, prosecution system, law firms and experts and scholars from universities were invited to attend the meeting. The annual meeting was hosted by the Litigation Law Research Society of Guangdong Province Law Society and undertaken by School of Politics and Law of Guangdong University of Technology. The conference focused on the theme of "the interface and integration of litigation law and the Civil Code".

Professor Du Chengming, Vice President of our university, attended the opening ceremony and delivered a speech. On behalf of the organizer, he congratulated on the success of the conference and expressed his gratitude to the leaders, experts and scholars who attended the conference. He introduced the course and development vision of our school's law discipline and emphasized that deepening communication and cooperation with political and legal authorities, industrial enterprises and practical institutions is the only way to improve the quality and efficiency of the development of the legal discipline. He hoped that experts and scholars from the academic and practical sectors would continue to support the development of the legal discipline and contribute to the legal education of our university. Afterwards, Jiang Bin, full-time vice-chairman and secretary-general of Guangdong Province Law Society, and Yang Jianguang, President of the Litigation Law Research Society of Guangdong Province Law Society, delivered speeches. At the opening ceremony, the list of members of the Fifth Council was finalized, the list of winning papers was read out and the awards were presented. Shao Junwu, Vice President of the Litigation Law Research Society of Guangdong Province Law Society and Dean of the School of Politics and Law of our university, presided over the opening ceremony.

After the opening ceremony, the conference was followed by presentations, round-table discussions and summaries, where participants discussed the integration of the Civil Code with the Civil Procedure Law, the Civil Code with the Criminal Procedure Law, and how to implement and guarantee the implementation of the Civil Code.
